Off-piste skiing
An experiencded quide will take you to the best peaks in Gloppen and give you an uforgettable experience. At the top we will make a fire and enjoy a nice meal sendt from the hotel.
Glacier walking
Jølster is a superb starting point for glacier walking on the Haugabre Glacier. Trips of various lengths and degrees of difficulty are organised every week during the summer season, with well qualified and experienced guides. For more details and prices see the Nordfjord Adventure website.
Mountain walks
All around Gloppen Fjord you will find the wild and beautiful nature of west Norway, with fjord and mountains close at hand. A perfect natural jewel. The expansive mountain moorland with its varied nature is an eldorado for walkers in summer and skiers in winter. The terrain is mostly quite easy, which makes the area around Gloppen highly suitable for walkers of all age groups. There is a walking map of the area available at the hotel, showing both marked and unmarked routes. We can also offer guided mountain walks with Nordfjord Adventure.
Angling
Gloppen is a real discovery for anglers. Trout in more than 130 mountain lakes, salmon in gushing rivers and fjords full of sea fish attract anglers of all kinds. Fishing the fjord is free and in most of the rivers and small lakes in the area, angling is very inexpensive. Fishing permits can be bought at the tourist information, in the hotel and in shops and petrol stations in the area.
Riding
Norsk Fjordhestgard in Breim (about 25 km from the hotel) organises short and long riding trips and horseback safaris, with or without overnight stays out in the open. They also offer riding instruction. Contact Norsk Fjordhestgard directly to book a trip or riding lessons. Why not pop in?

Kayaking on the Gloppen Fjord
The Gloppen Fjord is a beautiful place for kayaking. The open fjord, with snow capped mountains all around, makes a wonderful setting for your trip. 11.00 every Friday during the summer. The trip lasts 3 to 4 hours. More information on the Nordfjord Adventure website.
6 hole golf course
In 2001 Sandane Golf Club opened a beautiful 6 hole course, which is surrounded by the Gloppen River, one of the best salmon rivers in the country. The six hole course is being continually improved. Beside the course is a practice area consisting of a driving range and a putting area. We can promise you a very special golfing experience amid historic and magnificent natural surroundings. Rafting
Jølster Rafting: Some of the most beautiful rafting rivers in northern Europe are to be found in the middle of Sogn & Fjordane. Here you can find fun, excitement and entertainment for beginners, old hands and adrenalin junkies. Trips of various lengths and degrees of difficulty are organised several days a week during the summer season.

Master Chef - Gloppen
Our famous head-chef Bodil Fjellestad Eikrem organises a real master-chef competition. You will be provided with high quality local ingredients, divided into teams and given a certain time to complete a three-cource dinner. The judges will award a winner at the end. Here you are guaranteed a fun day, full of new experiences and wonderful tastes.
